LIBOSI- Liberia Open Source Initiative (LIBOSI) is a non-profit grassroots Liberian organization dedicated to promoting and supporting Open Source initiatives including software, projects, principles and practices in Liberia should get involved! LIBOSI was formed by a community of grassroots Liberians in an effort to use collaborative approach to finding ICT solutions through Open Source for economic and educational development in Liberia. The organization aims to develop an open source and open knowledge society and an open business environment in Liberia while keeping connections with the International community. LIBOSI is Liberia's Digital Nervous Systems.

Our vision is to leverage open source approaches in order to make Liberia a knowledge society for economic development through creative thinking, collaboration and the use of computer technology.

Our Mission

Our mission is to leverage open source approaches, software, practices, and principles, to identify challenging areas in Liberia and create intellectual property for economic development.

Strategy

We identify areas of need, collect data, turn data into information, use information to turn area of need into project, develop solutions using Open Source approaches, software, principles, and practices, and present said project to the Government, private sector, NGOs, and all other stakeholders for funding and implementation.

Organizational Culture

We respect and care for each other; we share knowledge, we build intellectual capacity, we are open minded, we use of Free and Open Source Software for projects and all works; we make available our work to Liberians for free so as to create a knowledge society fit to compete in the global community.
